About Mitsume
Japanese born Masashi Kaneya ("Mitsume") started creating a unique style of custom jewelry since 1994, inspired by worldwide journeys. ("Mitsume" in Japanese means the Third Eye. Mitsu = Third, Me = Eye).

Every trip he made to places such as Africa, Middle East, Mexico, Malaysia, and Indonesia (Bali), he lived with the native craftsmen and shaman. There, he exchanged his skills with them and learned their handcraft skills extensively. After years of gaining experience, he moved back to Japan to open his ¨Safari¨ custom jewellery store in Harajuku, Tokyo in the year 2000.

After 8 years in Tokyo, Mitsume felt that he still needed to explore and expand his experience. Having known that Southeast Asia has a vast trade of experience in handcraft skills, he decided to take his family to the island of Koh Pha Ngan (Thailand). There, he lives a more holistic and simple life to continue his work in a more natural setting while opening a new business named Mitsume.

His work is very personal. He still utilizes simple tools and techniques, being guided by his natural third eye, which he was fortunate to be born with.

Throughout his life he has found that his third eye has led him to connect to the holistic and mystique lifestyle.

Each item Mitsume creates is unique and original. He collects his material from all over the world such as pure & sterling silver, gemstones, beads, healing stones, seashells, leather, wildlife (bones/tooth/ivory) and more. He visualizes the jewelry with his third eye before it is created, and by meditation he can complete the authentic handcrafted design.

He likes to understand the genesis of the objects he his working with, so that he can authentically honor them in his work, while adding his own imaginative interpretations gleaned from the creative force in his life. He continues to share the evolution of his personal journey.

Work Style
Mitsume starts his day by balancing his chakras using Reiki, he then makes his Puja connecting to universal energy and guidance asking for a vision / inspiration for his daily work.

Then Mitsume cleanses the materials that he is going to work with in natural river water. He then uses Mantra and places the object in a temple. The natural cycles of the moon are used at the right time to align the energies of creation, just like one would plant seeds at the time of a new moon.

Mitsume then has a puzzle before him that consists of all the various materials, he then makes a connection of the right pieces that fit together to create each unique handmade holistic creation.

Each creation has a reflection of the selected healing property or gemstone.

He places a symbol in each creation, which has a meaning within each object to create a piece of unique jewelry.

After completion he charges the energy of his creation using Reiki and healing energy. Each creation that is made has within it an energy that can be utilized as a trigger for healing. After his 15yrs experience, he is ready to share his vision of how healing jewelry can be used to benefit ones life. His style of jewellery is designed for people that have awareness of the power of healing.

From the native holy people that he has met throughout his journeys there are many techniques used to form and mould each type of material.
